The starting base pay for an enforcement agent is currently $20.41/hour, or $42,453 per year. Sixty cents per hour of shift differential pay is added for hours worked between 5 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Authorized overtime (over 40 hours/week) will be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. Agents may request pay or compensatory time for overtime hours.
All state employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis, with payday being every other Friday. Paychecks are always two weeks in arrears and reflect hours worked that previous two week pay period. This means a new employee must wait four weeks to receive his/her first check. After that, a check is received every two weeks.
All sworn personnel are automatically enrolled in the Public Employees Retirement System, Law Enforcement section. The state automatically deducts 10.5 percent of your pay to help fund your future retirement benefits. An agent can retire at age 48 with 25 years of service and immediately start collecting his/her pension. |
